Ami Au Ceramics
Artist Profile:
Ami (born.1991) lived in Australia for over 14 years, and received a Bachelor of Product Design. It was through her constant exploration in the Arts that she uncovered a profound connection with ceramics. Something about how she could directly manipulate the medium of clay with her bare hands gave her a sense of purpose and control. She attended all the classes that she could afford, obsessed with improving her skills.
When she finally returned home to Ho Chi Minh in 2021, Ami was ready to unleash her dreams. She was able to completely break down the fundamentals of clay and hone in on her personal style every single day. She is currently exploring contemporary and modern ceramics inspired by her natural surroundings.
Ami’s personal ceramics style revolves around her own free spirit. Her imagination runs most wild when she is daydreaming about how she can translate her personal loves, things she can see and touch, the people she connects with, and her driving emotion, into beautiful works of clay artistry.
Ami hopes that by seeing and experiencing her art, the next generation of artists will be inspired to take big risks for an even bigger purpose: to ignite their free spirit.
